  5.                                 SPECIAL FEATURES

  7.               As most of us are aware, the telephone company offers
  8.          special features, among the most popular are:
  9.  
  10.                    1)  Call Forwarding
  11.                    2)  Tele-Conferencing
  12.                    3)  Call Waiting
  13.  
  14.               What many people do not know is that these features are
  15.          set up in a hierarchial manner (The order listed).
  16.          Therefore, if you are one of the many users who has tried
  17.          call waiting but have been unable to de-activate it when
  18.          using your computer during a communications session then you
  19.          might be interested in trying Call Forwarding.
  20.  
  21.               Call Forwarding will allow the user to forward all
  22.          incoming calls to a pre-determined number such as a friends
  23.          house or a relative, or if your incomming calls are too
  24.          numerous for others to bother with, then I suggest you look
  25.          up the local number for Time & Temperature and send your
  26.          calls there.

  28.               Call Forwarding is activated by pressing *72, wait for a
  29.          dial tone and then dial the number you want to recieve all
  30.          your incomming calls.  Once activated all incomming calls
  31.          will be forwarded to the new number until de-activated with
  32.          the disabling code of *73.

  34.               Call Forwarding is superior to the widely publicized
  35.          code of *70 - which has been suggested for disabling Call
  36.          Waiting. The disadvantage with *70 is that with *70, it must
  37.          be pressed for each call you wish to have the Call Waiting
  38.          feature disabled.  If you are unable to make contact with
  39.          your local BBS because its busy, then this can be a rather
  40.          tiresome and bothersome routine.  Once activated Call
  41.          Forwarding, will forward all incoming calls until
  42.          deactivated.

  44.               Hope this tip will prove helpful to those who have Call
  45.          Waiting, but are unable to deactivate this feature when using
  46.          the computer to access Bulletin Boards.
