- SPECIAL FEATURES
-
- As most of us are aware, the telephone company offers
- special features, among the most popular are:
-
- 1) Call Forwarding
- 2) Tele-Conferencing
- 3) Call Waiting
-
- What many people do not know is that these features are
- set up in a hierarchial manner (The order listed).
- Therefore, if you are one of the many users who has tried
- call waiting but have been unable to de-activate it when
- using your computer during a communications session then you
- might be interested in trying Call Forwarding.
-
- Call Forwarding will allow the user to forward all
- incoming calls to a pre-determined number such as a friends
- house or a relative, or if your incomming calls are too
- numerous for others to bother with, then I suggest you look
- up the local number for Time & Temperature and send your
- calls there.
-
- Call Forwarding is activated by pressing *72, wait for a
- dial tone and then dial the number you want to recieve all
- your incomming calls. Once activated all incomming calls
- will be forwarded to the new number until de-activated with
- the disabling code of *73.
-
- Call Forwarding is superior to the widely publicized
- code of *70 - which has been suggested for disabling Call
- Waiting. The disadvantage with *70 is that with *70, it must
- be pressed for each call you wish to have the Call Waiting
- feature disabled. If you are unable to make contact with
- your local BBS because its busy, then this can be a rather
- tiresome and bothersome routine. Once activated Call
- Forwarding, will forward all incoming calls until
- deactivated.
-
- Hope this tip will prove helpful to those who have Call
- Waiting, but are unable to deactivate this feature when using
- the computer to access Bulletin Boards.
